Sauk Centre Man Taken to Hospital and Cited After Rolling Vehicle
STEARNS COUNTY - A Sauk Centre man was taken to the hospital and given a citation after rolling his vehicle on Monday night.
The incident happened at 7:45 p.m. on County Road 186 in Getty Township.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Jose Ojeda-Lopes of Sauk Centre was driving a SUV west on County Road 186. At the same time, 17-year-old Bradley Holmquist of Long Prairie was driving east on the same road.
Holmquist told authorities that over half of Ojeda-Lopez's SUV was in the eastbound lane when he came around the curve. Ojeda-Lopez then overcorrected, causing his vehicle to go into the south ditch and roll an unknown amount of times.
He was taken to Sauk Centre Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A citation was also issued to Ojeda-Lopez for careless driving, driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.
Alcohol isn't believed to be a factor in this crash. Sauk Centre Rescue, Sauk Centre Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
