ST. CLOUD -- A Sartell man was given the Citizen Life Saving Award for his life saving actions at Stearns County's Quarry Park last summer.

18-year-old Kevin Hollingsworth was swimming at the park when he saw someone go under and appeared to be in trouble. Hollingsworth jumped in the water and found the man unconscious, lifted him above water and brought him to shore. The man regained consciousness and has fully recovered.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says it is rare that the Citizen Life Saving Award is given out.  He says in the last 20 years it had been given out maybe only one other time.  He believes the man would have died had Hollingsworth jumped in the water to save him when he did.
