SARTELL -- The Chair of the Sartell-St. Stephen School Board is resigning. Michelle Meyer, who's current term ends in 2018, has announced her resignation from the board.

Superintendent Jeff Schwiebert says the board will take applications for Meyer's position, and the process for those who are interested, is simple.

"The next step is to allow people who are interested in sitting on the board to simply write a letter to the board as to why they'd like to serve, and then the board gets to make their selection."

Schwiebert says Meyer's role will be shifted to Vice-Chair Jason Nies until the board finds a permanent replacement in August.

In her resignation letter, Meyer says she is resigning because of her family moving outside district borders. Meyer's last day of service will be August 11th.
