SARTELL - The Sartell-St. Stephen school board approved a two-year contract with the teachers union last (Monday) night.

Interim Superintendent Mike Spanier says it's nice to have it behind them.

Spanier says the teachers will get a two percent salary increase this school year, and a three percent increase next year.

There are about 250 teachers in the Sartell-St. Stephen school district.

Spanier says the board will now focus on contract negotiations with the other unions, including the para professionals, the principals, and other smaller groups.
