SARTELL - The Sartell-St. Stephen school district is getting a brand new $89.5 million high school. Voters in the district have approved a $105.8 million bond referendum.  They also plan to make upgrades to all the other buildings in the district.  The current high school will become the new middle school.

The final tally
-- 2,281 "Yes" votes
-- 2,034 "No" votes

School Board Chair Krista Durrwachter says the administration has a meeting with the architects tomorrow (Wednesday) to start designs.

The new high school will be built near Oak Ridge elementary in Sartell.  It will be open in the fall of 2019.

Administrators, school board members, and members of the "Choose Yes for Success" committee gathered at Partners Pub in Sartell, while waiting for results on the bond referendum vote.

School Board Member Michelle Meyer says it's been a lengthy process that started back in March of 2015.
