SARTELL - A new program will make it easier for Sartell-St. Stephen students to make healthy food choices.

The Medica Foundation donated $30,000 to incorporate the NuVal scoring system in the ala carte and vending lines at the middle and high schools.

The scoring system gives food and beverages a score from 1 to 100; the higher the score, the higher the nutrition.  All scores will be displayed directly on the shelves, making it easy for students to compare nutrition values.

Of course, getting those to choose them items is another matter.

The NuVal scoring system is also available in all area Coborn's stores.
