SARTELL -- Sartell police responded to a burglary early this (Wednesday) morning.

The incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Avenue North in Sartell.

Police say the homeowner awoke to find someone in the kitchen. The homeowner followed the suspect out of the home where the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Sartell officers and county deputies checked the area, but could not find the suspect.

The homeowner described the suspect as being small in stature, wearing a light color winter coat that went down to their knees, with a hood pulled over their head.

It is believed the suspect entered the home through an unlocked door.

Police are reminding you to keep your doors locked at night and report any suspicious activity.
