SARTELL -- Think your home or business is safe? The Sartell Police Department is offering you a chance to make sure.

Part of a program that started a few years ago, officers will come check your home or business for weaknesses burglars would look for.

Sartell Police Chief Jim Hughes says they started the program because people often talk about safety issues but not act on it.

"Sometimes when someone comes in such as me, and points them out they are like those are good ideas maybe we could incorporate," says Chief Hughes.

Jason Mathiasen is the Hospitality Service Director for Great River Bowl and Partners Pub. He says it's nice to have a second pair of eyes checking the facility.

"Looking at those same things and getting there perspectives, especially from a professional is tremendously helpful," says Mathiasen.

Mathiasen says the survey was a good reminder of things they take for granted.

If you are interested in having a survey of your home or business done you can call the Sartell Police Department at 320-251-8186.
