SARTELL -- Plans for a new Community Center in Sartell continue to slowly make progress.

Sartell officials held two interviews this evening (Monday) to see who will help build the new facility.

Dan Tideman, of GLT Architect and Murray Mack, of HMA Architect are the two companies Sartell is looking at hiring for the project.

Tideman showed the council two possible ideas they created of a two-level building similar to the look of the Whitney Senior and Recreation Center.

Mack talked more about the process and what it will take to get this facility built with the amenities the community desires.

Both presentations featured designs of the amenities the new Community Center would possibly have like a senior center, library, walking track, basketball courts and an aquatic center.

Each design would be modified for change based on the direction the council decides to go.

The council decided to take some time to think about the information presented. Hiring an architect will be put for a vote at the February 23rd council meeting.

Plans to build the new facility began in 2013.
