ST. CLOUD -- A Sartell man has pleaded guilty to several criminal charges in Stearns County District Court, several of which are related to domestic abuse.

Darnell Lewis has pleaded guilty to charges from several open court files. The 23-year-old has pleaded guilty to second degree assault involving a gun, felony domestic assault, kidnapping, felony Order For Protection violation and three felony Domestic Abuse - No Contact Order violations.

WJON News reported an incident from September of last year when Lewis pushed his girlfriend out of a vehicle when she tried to break up with him. Court records show he later drank alcohol, continued to beat her, stepped on her neck, and eventually raped her. He has since been charged with additional counts from November 2015, December 2015 and February 2016.

Lewis, has three previous domestic assault convictions prior to this string of charges.

According to the Stearns County Attorney's Office, Lewis will receive 12-years and nine-months in prison when he's sentenced April 6th.
