WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Michele Bachmann recognized Lisa and Tony Schneider of Sartell in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. today (Tuesday) as the 2013 "Angels in Adoption" from Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District.

Even before they were married, Lisa and Tony Schneider knew that they would adopt children one day. Prayer drew their hearts to the children of central Asia, specifically. Years of political setbacks and paperwork complications slowed down their process, but they never gave up on Ian of Ukraine and Micah of Kyrgyzstan. In 2010, the Schneider’s returned from Ukraine with Ian, and then two years later Micah officially became a Schneider, joining biological children Caleb and Anaya.

Angels in Adoption is a program of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute that allows Members of Congress to honor constituents who have enriched the lives of foster children and orphans.
