SARTELL - The Sartell City Council is set buy a piece of land the city will turn it into a park.

Negotiations between the city and the Dehler family, who owns the land are nearly complete with a signed purchase agreement.

The land known as the Dehler Property, found between Whitney Park and Stearns County Road 120, will be renamed the Sauk River Park and Nature Area.

The city is looking to use allocated funds from the 2008 state bonding bill along with a Legacy Amendment grant.

The deal could be finalized by the City Council tonight after more than five years of planning.
