Sartell City Council Plans To Move Forward In Land Acquisition [AUDIO]
SARTELL -- The Sartell City Council approved the purchase of two pieces of land that will soon become a new park.
The city agreed to buy the land for nearly $950,000 from the G & M Dehler Trust and the Wollak Development.
The 47 acres will be turned into the Sauk River Park and Nature Area.
The funding will be covered by a $500,000 allocation from the 2008 state bonding bill along with $500,000 and a %10 local match from a Legacy Amendment grant.
Mayor Joe Perske says they will be leaving a lasting legacy with the park.
The city council expects to close on the deal in a few months.
