Sartell Appoints Interim City Administrator

SARTELL -- The City of Sartell voted unanimously to appoint Mary Degiovanni as the interim city administrator effective June 1st.

Degiovanni, who currently serves as the finance director, will fill the role until the council finds a permanent replacement after Patti Gartland tendered her resignation.

Each council member showed their support for Degiovanni. Mayor Joe Perske said he is confident in her ability, while council member Steve Hennes said it is a big advantage to have an interim administrator who knows the city's finances.

As part of the resolution, Degiovanni will be receive additional compensation of $1,200 per month. She will also be able to use the City iPad and receive the current monthly phone-data plan allowance of the current city administrator.

Gartland announced last month that she is leaving her position to become the new president of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. Her last day as city administrator is May 31st.

Degiovani has been with the City of Sartell since January 2004.
