Sara Beth Orth (née Hansen) of Milaca, MN, died tragically with her husband, Collin, in a motorcycle accident on July 2, 2016, at the age of 34.

Sara was born on August 21, 1981, in Princeton, MN, to Glen and Sharon Hansen, joining big sisters, Anne and Lori. She was baptized into the Christian faith on September 20, 1981. She grew up in Princeton playing outside and singing with her sisters nearly everywhere they went. She was confirmed in her faith on May 7, 1995, at Bethany Lutheran Church. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1999 and attended Bethany Lutheran College. She married Todd Johnson on June 24, 2000, and moved to Woodbury, MN. They were blessed with Isaac and Samuel. When they divorced in 2002, Sara and the boys returned to Princeton and were welcomed by her loving parents. She worked hard at Coborn’s to support her young family and later started a new career at Princeton Insurance Agency as a Customer Service Agent. During the summer of 2005, Sara was reintroduced to Collin Orth, a former classmate, also a 1999 graduate of PHS. They quickly knew their relationship was meant to be. They married on July 15, 2006, and Collin became Daddy to Isaac and Samuel. Sara and Collin built a beautiful home in Milaca, MN, where they were blessed by the births of Caleb and Hannah. Sara began working at Wells Fargo as an Insurance Service Representative in Minneapolis in 2009, and left to pursue a new position as Head Bookkeeper for Coborn’s, Princeton, in November of 2015.

Sara had a beautiful singing voice and could harmonize to anything she sang with her sisters. She was gifted at piano and played organ at Bethany Lutheran Church. Sara had a contagious laugh and loved her family and friends fiercely. She enjoyed spending time with friends, BINGO nights, watching movies, eating out, spending time outdoors with her family, hunting, fishing, and many other activities with her loving husband and children. Sara always had a close and honest relationship with her dad, mom, and sisters. She was a beloved auntie, and is dearly missed. Her sarcastic, witty personality contrasted with her wildly sensitive, emotional soul. Most of all, she loved being a mom and supporting her children in their many activities.

Isaac said, “Mom always listened to music I liked, whether she liked it or not, and her smile meant that she would always love me no matter what dumb stuff I did.” Sam said that his mom “was so loving and was always there when I needed someone to talk to.” Caleb will always remember his mom’s “sweet kisses and hugs” and little Hannah carries on her mom’s spunk and ability to make others laugh.

Sara is survived by her parents, Glen and Sharon Hansen, Princeton; children, Isaac (15), Samuel (14), Caleb (9), and Hannah (2); sisters Anne Mundt (Andrew) of Milwaukee, WI, and Lori Resendiz (Hector) of St. Paul, MN, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Alvin and Joyce Hansen, Garrison, MN, Donna Mardian, Princeton, MN, and Lewis Schmidt, Tappen, ND.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8th at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish, North Campus in Princeton with Rev. Jerry Gernander from Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 2PM, memorial service to follow at 4PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
