The St. Michael-Albertville Knights overwhelmed Sartell-St. Stephen in a 52-28 win Thursday night at Husky Stadium. The Knights advance to play against Owatonna in the state tournament semifinals next week, while Sartell's season ends at 8-4.

STMA took a 32-0 lead at the half thanks to three touchdowns in a row from Noah Evans to start the game, followed by an interception brought back for a touchdown and a pair of Chris Kartes runs.

The Sabres got on the board with a pair of touchdowns to start the second half, the first through the air from the arm of Sartell quarterback Brandon Snoberger and the second from the legs of Snoberger to make the score 39-14.

Sartell got within 17 points when running back Derek Stachowski broke the plane of the end zone for the 21st time this season early in the fourth quarter to make it a 39-22 game.

Unfortunately for the Sabres, STMA responded with back-to-back touchdowns to pull away with the game for good.
