The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres are looking to punch their ticket to the Metrodome with a win Thursday over St. Michael-Albertville at Husky Stadium in the opening round of the state tournament. The game can be heard on WJON.com starting at 7 pm (online only).

The Sabres started the season 1-3, but have since won seven games in a row to run that record to 8-3. They are lead by running back Derek Stachowski, who has rushed for over 2,000 yards with 20 touchdowns.

The Knights are 9-1 this year, with their only loss coming in an epic game with Rogers in the regular season finale.

The winner of tonight’s game will take on the winner of Owatonna and Apple Valley, who play tonight at Lakeville North High School.
