Ridgepoint Senior Living and formerly Foley, MN, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Deephaven Woods, Deephaven. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Kurtis Lybarger will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services at the church.

Ruth Gudvag Bettendorf was born January 7, 1916 in Leeds, North Dakota to Thomas and Karen (Halverson) Aageson. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a major in social work and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority during college. On August 26, 1944, she was united in marriage with Richard Bettendorf in Sauk Rapids. She resided in Foley for 56 years as a housewife and social worker for Benton County for over 20 years. Ruth was a past board member of the Central Minnesota Council on Aging and RSVP nutrition program. She served on the Stearns/Benton County Battered Women's Shelter and Child Abuse team; volunteered at Dewey Place and the Foley Nursing Home; and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. John's Church and Rosary Society.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Shirley) of Plymouth; daughter, Jane Bettendorf of Bloomington; grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan) Wehrspann of Chicago and Amanda (Zachary) Faust of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren: Aidan Wehrspann, Cora Faust and Noelle Faust; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and four siblings.
