Memorial Services will be held at 11 am, Friday October 10, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Long Prairie for Roy F. Lee, age 77, of Long Prairie who died Tuesday after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease, at CentraCare Health Systems – Long Prairie. Rev. Jerry Bauman will officiate and burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call one hour before the services on Friday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home - Stein Chapel, Long Prairie.

Roy Francis Lee was born October 13, 1936 in Reynolds Township, Todd County Minnesota the son of Francis and Elsie (Erickson) Lee. He grew up in Reynolds Township and attended school there. He later graduated from Long Prairie High School. He began working at the Reynold Feed Store and later Lano Hardware in Long Prairie. He married Joan Rapp on September 24, 1960 in Long Prairie. He went to work at Hart Press, later becoming Banta, where he spent 40 years until his retirement in 2000.

Roy was a member of First Baptist Church, Long Prairie and served on the Evergreen Cemetery Board for many years. He enjoyed working outdoors at the farm and also built many bird houses. Roy was a very kind and good man that would help anyone in need.

Roy is survived by his wife, Joan, Long Prairie; children, Sandra (Todd Von Ruden) Lee, Spring Lake Park; Ross (Carlya) Lee, Alexandria; and Mark (Barbara) Lee, St. Cloud; sisters, Jeanette (Darvin) Asleben, Long Prairie, and Marleen Anderson, Spring Lake Park; also six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Stacey Lee.
