The Rox beat the Duluth Huskies 6-2 Thursday night to improve to 9-6 in the second half of the season. With Waterloo’s loss last night, St. Cloud is now 3.5 games out of first place.

Holy Angels graduate Lucas Long was lights-out on the mound for the Rox, allowing only three hits and a pair of walks through eight innings before surrendering a two-run home run in the ninth. The righty struck out six.

Chris Paul was 3-4 at the plate for the Rox with a pair of RBI, as St. Cloud pounded out seven hits and drew six walks in the game as a team. The Rox scored five runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back in the win.

St. Cloud is back home Friday night to host the Alexandria Blue Anchors at 7:05.
