ST. CLOUD - A plan is in the works to build a bandshell at Lake George.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis and members of the St. Cloud Rotary Club announced the plan this (Wednesday) evening, during the Sumertime By George event.

The cost of the project is estimated to be about $260,000, with the city paying for half of the cost with half-cent sales tax dollars, and the Rotary Club paying for the other half.

Kleis says, if the project gets the final approval from the city, it's scheduled to be built this fall, and will be ready for the concert season next spring.  The design would be similar to the pergola that's already on the south side of the lake.  It would be built near where the current portable stage is sitting.

Summertime By George concert series is in its second year, offering live music performances every Wednesday night through the summer.
