Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in St. Joseph for Ronald R. Good, 62 of St. Cloud who passed away unexpectedly on Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Dwaine Bruns will officiate and burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday morning.

Ron was born in Fort Dodge, IA on April 19, 1952 to Eugene and Hallie (Berner) Good. He moved with his family to St. Cloud, MN in 1966. He graduated from Technical High School in 1970 and attended St. Cloud State University for a year and a half before entering into the United States Army. He received orders to go to Vietnam in June of 1972, but was reassigned to White Sands Missile Range, NM when it was decided that no more draftees would be deployed. Ron married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Mary Sheryl Baden on May 5, 1973. He and Sheryl moved to New Mexico where Ron served as a military police officer until he was honorably discharged.

Upon returning to St. Cloud, Ron completed his degree in Accounting at St. Cloud State University. He worked for a local accounting firm for a few years before beginning his own practice. In 1980, he went into partnership with John Spaniol and formed Spaniol & Good, CPA.

Ron and Sheryl raised a family of three beautiful daughters. Together, they taught their girls about honesty, generosity, faith, love and the true meaning of ‘Ohana. Ron cheered his girls on all throughout their lives. He was their number one fan and they were his pride and joy. Ron and his family were hosts to one Swedish and many Japanese exchange students, one of which formed a special bond with them and became the 4th daughter in their family.

Ron loved to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren and closest friends. He loved to travel. Hawaii was his home away from home; his paradise. He had a love for art and music. He was a poet, singer and songwriter. He played the ukulele and the guitar. He recorded and copyrighted songs that related to his life experiences and to his family. He also loved to scuba dive, hike and bike.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sheryl of St. Cloud; daughters, Jennifer (Travis) Birr of St. Michael, Katie (Cameron) Olson of Sartell, Ashley (Michael) Skaggs of St. Cloud and Kanae (Eiji) Nakano of Clovis, CA; grandchildren, Jacob and Kailyn Birr, Bentley and Brelynn Olson and Lisa Nakano; brother, Danny (Lynn) Good of Avondale, PA; mother-in-law, Irene Baden of St. Cloud; sister-in-law, Lori Koop of Brooklyn Park and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Edward Baden and brother-in-law Peter Koop.
