Ronald G. Hanson, 78, of Elk River, MN, formerly of Princeton and Zimmerman, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton, MN.
Ron was born July 31, 1937 to Royal and Martha (Stanek) Hanson in Fort Dodge, IA. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1955 and was united in marriage to Mary Riley. The family relocated to Princeton, MN in 1967 and owned the Ponderosa Inn in Zimmerman. The couple later divorced and in 1990 he met his longtime companion, Marian Tischner. Ron enjoyed playing golf, cribbage and spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his children, Suzanne Hulett of Princeton, Roxanne (Luther) Carlson of Stanchfield, Luanne Hanson of Fergus Falls and Jodi (Dennis) Walz of Otho, IA; grandchildren, Kristina Hulett, Jeff (Sylvia Plante) Hulett, Nick (Jessie) Carlson, Zac (Molly) Carlson, Matt Hanson-Nelson and Luke Hanson-Nelson; 5 great grandchildren; Marian Tischner, her daughter Tammy Hummel and granddaughter Reagan; brother Darwin (Lois) Hanson of Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Martha Hanson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo, MN with visitation from 2:00-3:00PM at the church. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Elk Horn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, IA. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
