Roman Kieffer Sr., age 97, of Morrill, died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Parish Prayers will be held at 6:00 PM Monday. Service with Dignity provided by Foley Funeral Home.

Roman Kieffer was born July 1, 1917 in Morrill Township, Morrison County, MN to John and Rose (Kasella) Kieffer. He married Irene Bower on August 17, 1937 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Roman worked as a mechanic for many years and owned and operated Kieffer's Farm Service. He also did custom combining and woodworking. He would fix anything for anyone. Roman enjoyed hunting and fishing; especially fox and deer hunting. He spent many years hunting and is well known in the Big Fork area. Roman was most happy spending time with friends and family; including his dog, Popeye and pet deer, Bucky. He was a life member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, which he helped build.

He is survived by his children: Jim (Darlene) of Foley, Phyllis Kieffer (Gale Siefert) of Garrison, Roman Jr. (Sandy) of Foley, Bob (Sally) of Hillman, Patsy Luberda of Foley, Tom (Michelle) of Foley, Bill of Foley, Roger (Maxine) of Rice, Alan of Foley; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; sons, Norbert and Gene; daughter-in-law, Glinda Kieffer; son-in-law, Arnie Luberda; great grandsons, Tyler and Remington Kieffer; and brother, John Kieffer.
