November 26, 1928 - July 11, 2016

Roger Lewis Cartwright, age 87, of Princeton, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016. Roger was born on November 26, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Lewie and Anna (Switzenberg) Cartwright. Roger was married to Kathryn Nelson in Centuria, WI, in 1947. He worked as a milk delivery man, first door to door, then commercial delivery. Roger was a farmer, owned and operated the Sears store in Princeton and also a fishing resort. In his early years, Roger enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He purchased a school bus in 1958 which had been converted into a camper. Many travelers were more interested in taking pictures of his camper than of the sights. Roger and Kathryn enjoyed wintering in Las Vegas and spending summers with family in Minnesota. Roger loved to play games in Las Vegas; pai gow, bingo and blackjack were his favorites. Roger loved his family and made many friends through the years. He will be dearly missed.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kathryn, of Princeton; children, Carol (Bob) Wigen of Anchorage, AK, Steve (Sandi) Cartwright, David Cartwright and Jim (Becky) Cartwright, all of Princeton; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois Sanger.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton. Interment will be in Green Lake Cemetery in rural Princeton. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
