Roger John Durand, 87, Saint Cloud

September 20, 1927 - July 3, 2015

Memorial Services will be 11AM Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Roger Durand who died Friday at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. The Rev. Harvey Ehlers will officiate and burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Visitation will be from 10-11AM Tuesday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Roger was born in Minneapolis to Bernard S. & Bertha (Thoner) Durand. He served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. He married LaVerna Forsberg on October 2, 1947 in Yuma, AZ. He worked as a machinist for Kurt Manufacturing in Minneapolis for 35 years retiring in 1989. After his retirement he moved to the lake and enjoyed doing woodworking and crafts. He enjoyed family gatherings and golfing.

Survivors include his children, Michael (Jan) of Gold Canyon, AZ; Cynthia (Ron) Irving of St. Cloud; Jody (Bruce) Brown of Mesa, AZ; Todd of Backus; Timothy of Rockford. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaVerna, daughter, Robin DeRosier, brothers, Douglas and Roy, and sisters, Carol Dwinells and Dorothy Lasker.
