A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 15, at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater for Robert J. Bluhm, 84, of Annandale, who died August 12 at his home. The Reverend Scott Gjevre will officiate. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday (TODAY) at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater, and from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Friday at the church.

Bob was born on April 20, 1930, in Kerkhoven, to Frank and Martha (Marquardt) Bluhm. Bob married Lorraine Johnson on July 19, 1952, in California. He served in the US Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart during the Korean conflict. After discharge, Bob and Lorraine moved to Minneapolis in 1954, where Bob attended the Minnesota School of Business and received his degree in accounting. In 1975, Bob built their dream home in rural Annandale. He worked in the Accounting field until he retired in 1995. He returned to part-time work in 2000, retiring again in 2009. Bob used his accounting skills as treasurer of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and church. Bob enjoyed hobby farming, by raising poultry, pigs, and crops. Bob and Lorraine enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He was active in the men’s bible study at Rejoice Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and trying his luck at numerous casinos.

Bob is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Lorraine; children Gregory (Cindy Ann) of Clearwater, Cindy (Lyle) Landowski of Buffalo, Cathy Carlson of Butterfield; grandchildren: Adam and Alicia (AJ), Joseph (Bridget) and Jessica, Donald (Abigail) and Deanna (Matthew); great-grandchildren Olivia, Kennedy, and one on the way; brother Alvin; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene.

Memorials are preferred to the Rejoice Lutheran Church stained glass window fund.
