Robert E. Wilson, Avon, 75

October 19, 1938 - August 28, 2014

With heavy but joyous hearts we share that our dad, Bob, has packed the truck, hooked up the boat and has gone on a heavenly and eternal fishing trip with our mom.

Robert E. Wilson of Avon, MN, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 beginning 4:00 PM with a tribute at 6:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. In celebration of Bob’s love of hunting and fishing everyone is invited to wear their favorite sportsman gear. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.

Bob was born and raised in Longville, MN. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He returned home to marry his high school crush, Patricia Matteson in 1962. They lovingly and proudly raised their four daughters in the St. Cloud area. Bob was employed as a supervisor by Smurfit Stone Container of St. Cloud, MN from 1962 - 2000. He was a member of St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622.

His is survived by four daughters, Lynn, Stephanie, Lisa and Fawn; sister, Anna Mary; nine grandchildren, Tonie, Robbie, Kellie, Rebecca, Jeff, Kim, Mallory, Bryce and Jordanne; and four great grandchildren, Quinn, Cole, Gemma and Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pat, two brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
