Robert Dean Kendall, age 81, St. Cloud, MN died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at his home in St. Cloud.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Sartell, MN. Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Robert (Bob) was born May 11, 1933 in Watertown, NY to Harold and Grovene (Vincent) Kendall. He married LuBell Garber on August 25, 1954. Bob graduated from Clayton Central High School in 1950, received a BA from the University of Denver in 1954, a Master of Divinity from Drew Theological Seminary in 1957, a Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of Minnesota in 1968, and a Ph.D. in Speech Communication from the University of Minnesota in 1973. He served as a pastor in New York from 1955 to 1958, Iowa from 1958 to 1960 and Minnesota from 1960 to 1968. From 1971 to 1992 Bob served as a professor of Speech Communication at St. Cloud State University. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, REAM, Heifer International, Elderhostel, the Minnesota Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, and Realife Cooperative at Mueller Gardens in St. Cloud. Bob enjoyed writing, carving, fishing, boating, and impersonation speaking.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, LuBell Kendall of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughter, Keith (Cindy) Kendall of Negaunee, MI; Dean (Libbie) Kendall of Baltimore, MD; John (Janelle) Kendall of St. Cloud, MN; KarenLu Kendall of St. Cloud, MN; brother, David (Cynthia) Kendall of Alexandria Bay, NY; sister, Mary (Roger) Weinreber of Gold Canyon, AZ; six grandchildren, Traci (Vinny) Scarpinato, Trista (Kate Carroll) Kendall, Jennifer (Derek Morris) Kendall, Victoria (Joon Park) Kendall, Andrew Kendall and Alexander Kendall; and two great grandchildren, Sophia and Stella Scarpinato.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
