Robert “Bob” Sherwood Levine, age 95, of St. Cloud passed away Thursday at Country Manor Healthcare Center, Sartell. Memorial services and burial in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN will be at a later date.

Robert was born on March 2, 1921 to Robert Carl and Hattie Belle (Hesford) Levine in Park Falls, WI. On August 29, 1942 he married Mae Norris in Cannon Falls, MN. Robert "Bob" proudly served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre from 1942-1945 in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was a SGT and Tank Commander in Company C, 44TH Tank Battalion. He participated in the Allied landing at Luzon with MacArthur. Bob's tank Company C, received a Presidential Unit Citation for their actions in the Philippines. After his time in the Armed Forces, Bob worked as a Correctional Officer at the St. Cloud Reformatory for 22 years before retiring in 1977. He was a member of Peace United Methodist Church and a former member of Hope Presbyterian where he was a Deacon. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, reading, playing cards and bocce ball.

Bob is survived by his children, Dennis (Judy) of Honey Brook, PA and Carol (Jerry) Wiggins-Shiffer of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Anika Levine, Elizabeth Levine, Aaron (Willow) Wiggins; and one great grandchild, Wilson Wiggins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mae on November 7, 2012; siblings, Geraldine Johnson, Almeda Karsko, Charolette Deurr, Ted Levine, Richard Levine; and step brother, Lyle Lund.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Coborn Cancer Center.
