Robert “Bob” Eugene Resch, formerly of Staples, 65

Robert Eugene Resch, 65 of Niwot, CO, (formerly of Staples, MN) passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Balfour Hospice in Louisville, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN, with Father Joe Korf officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 9:00-11:00 AM the day of services at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.

Robert was born to Eugene Robert Resch and Eileen Geraldine (Gaffke) Resch on August 16, 1948 in Brained, MN. He graduated from Staples High School in 1966. Bob worked as a machinist in Fridley, MN at FMC (Northern Pump), and then returned to Staples to work with his father and owner of Resch Tile and Carpet. He later moved to Arizona where he was a ballroom dance instructor, then moved to Colorado where he worked as a master tile installer for many years. Bob enjoyed being with his family, spending many summers coming to Minnesota and enjoying the lakes with his family and friends. Bob was a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. Bob was an avid outdoorsman.

Robert is survived by his father, Eugene Resch and his wife, Judy Resch of Staples, MN; his children, Michael of Fridley, MN, Danica of Longmont, CO, Anton and Bonnie of Layfayette, CO; former wife and longtime friend, Mara Lehnert; brother, Jim Resch of Brainerd, MN; sisters, Marcie (Clifford) Cederholm of Baudette, MN, Yolanda (Mike) Koppes of Staples, MN, Melissa Shriver of Staples, MN; Christine (Todd) Tollefson, Carla (Mark) Kuchinski; grandchildren, Heather and Zachary; many nieces and nephews. Bob will be especially missed by his faithful companion, Morgan, his black lab, who was by his side constantly. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eileen; brothers, Daniel and Leroy; sister, Patricia, and niece, Cindy Cederholm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
