River Bats Sign Lefthander, 2 Assistant Coaches

The St. Cloud River Bats announced the signing of a lefthanded pitcher for the 2011 season.  The Bats signed Zach Hirsch from Nebraska.  He has appeared in 5 games in relief for Nebraska and has a 3.60 earned run average with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts.  He joins fellow Cornhusker infielder Bryan Peters on the 15-man River Bats roster.  The Bats also announced the hiring of assistant coaches Matt Allison (Menlo College) and Anthony Espitia (Cal-State Monterey).  Allison managed the River Bats in 2002.  The River Bats begin the regular season June 1 at Duluth and will host Duluth in their home opener June 3.  Hear the River Bats again this season on AM 1390-the Fan.
