River Bats Close Season With Win Over Brainerd

The St. Cloud River Bats defeated Brainerd 5-3 to close the season with a 33-37 overall record and a 20-19 record in the 2nd half of the season.  Kyle Stiner was 2-4 with a run scored Sunday and Carlos Lopez drove in 2 runs for the Bats.  Jeff Kelly threw a scoreless inning of relief to get the win.

The Northwoods League playoffs begin today with 2 best of 3 divisional round playoff series.  Alexandria plays at Mankato in the North and Battle Creek plays at Green Bay in the south.
