River Bats Beat Willmar 6-3

The St. Cloud River Bats ended their 3-game losing streak with a 6-3 win at Willmar Thursday night.  St. Cloud scored 3 first inning runs and added 2 more runs in the 5th inning.  Mitch Garver and Bryan Haar each hit homeruns for the Bats and Haar drove in 2 runs.

C.J. Gillman had 2 hits and 2 runs scored for the Bats.  Zach Hirsch threw 8 innings with 9 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win and Bryan Peters threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save.

The Bats are 11-16 and will host Willmar at 7:05 tonight, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:35.  It’s River Bats Calendar Night at Joe Faber Field tonight presented by Sunray Printing Solutions.  The first 500 fans receive a River Bats team calendar.  A fireworks extravaganza will follow tonight’s game.
