A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Christ Church Newman Center in St. Cloud for Richard V. Lord, age 75 of St. Augusta who died Sunday, at his home. Rev. Anthony Oelrich will officiate. Family and friends may call from 4-8PM on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be prayed at 7PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Richard was born in Fort Wayne, IN. to Vayne and Muriel (Gillie) Lord. He graduated from high school at the Nouasseur Air Force Base in Morocco, while his father served our country. Richard attended and graduated from SCSU. He met Mary Ferber from Henning, MN while at SCSU and they were married on August 7, 1965 in St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud. Richard was employed as a banker in the St. Cloud and metro area throughout his career until retiring. He was an alumni and avid booster of SCSU, a volunteer of the United Way, St. Cloud, a past president of the SCSU Alumni Association, and a board member of the Salvation Army, volunteering many years as a bell ringer during the holidays. Richard also was a member of Christ Church Newman Center. He was a sports fanatic who enjoyed downhill skiing, fishing, working on his shack at Rainy Lake and his many travels with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary; his son Richard (Kristin) of Monticello; grandchildren, Jessica and Ian Lord, of Monticello; brother and sister; Tom (Deb) and Janet Lord, both of Sioux Falls, SD; brother-in-law, Lyle Lebsack of Fort Myers, FL; Nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Sharon Lebsack and his brother Michael.

Richard’s family is most grateful for the attentive care of CentraCare hospice nurses and aides. The dedicated LVAD team at the U of M hospital, and the Cardiovascular Center at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorials are preferred to the St. Cloud Salvation Army, Christ Church Newman Center, St. Cloud State University and the Cardiovascular Center at the St. Cloud Hospital.
