Richard I. “Rick” Carland, 68, St. Augusta

September 25, 1946 - January 13, 2015

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday January 19 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Richard I. “Rick” Carland, 68, of St. Augusta, formerly of Clearwater, who died January 13, 2015. The Reverend Jose Edayadiyil will officiate. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Monday at the Church in St. Augusta. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Rick was born on September 25, 1946, in Minneapolis, to Morris and Mildred (Ladwig) Carland. He worked in the sheet metal trade until he retired in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and driving his Mustang. Rick was a handy man who always had a project. Rick was a devoted father and loving husband. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

Rick is survived by: wife Mary Jo; children, Eric Carland of Waite Park, Marlena (Justin) Waldrum of Albertville, Stephen (Audrey) Carland of Fargo, ND; grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, Madilynn, Oliver, and one on the way; brother Jim Carland of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers Robert Carland, John Carland, and sister Marianne Stibal.
