Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2014 at Country Manor Chapel in Sartell for Richard H. Burton, age 83, who passed away Wednesday. Chaplains Adam Sohre and Jeb Reiter will officiate and burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Sartell. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Monday at Country Manor Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Richard was born July 6, 1931 in Sauk Rapids to William & Celia (Casemore) Burton. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Richard married Jacqueline Prince on Oct. 1, 1955 in Virginia, MN. He has lived in the Sartell area since 1945. Richard was a truck driver for Champion Paper Co. in Sartell for 47½ years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254 and the Sartell Fire Department. Richard enjoyed tinkering with small engines, visiting and socializing, building bird houses, and bible study. He was a great Dad who was loving, kind, easy going, and taught his children many life lessons. Richard had a great laugh, enjoyed telling jokes, and had a very dry sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” of Sartell; children, Marvin of St. Cloud, Alan (Deb) of Virginia, Melissa (Jack) Kitzmiller of Sartell, Russell (Susan) of Savage, Dick (Brenda) of St. Cloud, and Charles (Pam) of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Katie (Kris Johnson) Kitzmiller, Justin (Brittany) Kitzmiller, Sara (Mark) Burton, Trevor Burton, Christopher Burton, Nicholas Burton, Amanda Burton, and Grace Burton; and great grandchildren, Daphne Kitzmiller and Kellen Johnson. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William; sisters, Viola Vierkant and Dorothy Riecken-Perske; and grandsons, Joseph and Tyler.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and friends at Country Manor, St. Croix Hospice, St. Cloud VA Staff, and our friends at Riverside Evangelical Church.
