RICE -- A Rice man was arrested yesterday (Monday) for an alleged marijuana growing operation.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force used a search warrant at 11000 Highway 10 North, lot #76 in Benton County after receiving tips and officer observations of the operation.

44-year-old Dennis Geise was arrested in connection with the operation, after a large amount of marijuana and items associated with a growing marijuana operation were found.

During the search investigators found more information of another growing operation, related to Giese, in Morrison County.

A search warrant was used at the home of 7771 80th Avenue in Elmdale Township.

During the second search officers found 19 maijuana plants that were recently harvested.

Giese faces possible charges of 5th degree possession of a controlled substance in both Benton and Morrison counties.
