Review — Deadly Force Justified In Little Falls Shooting

LITTLE FALLS (AP) - A prosecutor has concluded that law officers were justified when they used deadly force against a Little Falls man following a standoff in December.

Crow Wing County Attorney Don Ryan released his review Thursday of the shooting death of 37-year-old Patrick Jeske.

The review found that Jeske was depressed, suicidal and fired at least one shot at officers who confronted him early Dec. 30 at the home of an acquaintance in Little Falls. Jeske was shot six times and died at the scene.

Two Little Falls police officers and two Morrison County sheriff's deputies fired their weapons.

According to the review, Jeske had told others he intended to kill himself that night.

The review concludes the officers had no choice but to defend themselves.
