ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Three St. Paul police officers have been exonerated after they were accused of using excessive force during the January arrest of a man in a city skyway.

The union representing officers says the Police-Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission has cleared the officers, and said they acted within the scope of their duties.

The arrest of Chris Lollie was recorded and the video was posted on YouTube in August, gaining national attention. Lollie claimed in the video clip that he was doing nothing wrong and was being targeted because he was black.

Lollie wasn't charged with anything. He is now suing the officers and the city.

The St. Paul Police Federation says in a statement Friday that it welcomed the review and felt confident the panel would exonerate the officers.
