ST. CLOUD -- Authorities arrested six people during a special enforcement. The C.R.A.S.H Task Force conducted a High- Visibility Driving While Impaired saturation on December 31st.

Several local police departments focused their enforcement on Minnesota Highway 23 from St. Cloud to Paynesville.

Of the six arrested five were for D.W.I. Officials also handed out several citations including; two speeding violations, three Driving After Withdrawal violations, 26 equipment violations, and 20 other violations.

Drunken driving crashes from 2009 through 2011 accounted for 13 deaths, and 30 serious injuries, in Benton and Stearns counties. During that same time over 3,500 drivers were arrested for DWI.

The goal of task force is to reduce serious injury and fatality crashes through DWI enforcement.
