ST. CLOUD -- Many of us have items in our homes that we hardly use that ends up making its way to our trash cans.

As we start off the new year, maybe your resolution is to do a better job when it comes to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Dan Legatt is the Maintenance Supervisor of Sanitation and says the majority of items coming into landfills is organic.

St. Cloud recently went to a new one sort recycling program to make recycling easier for you to do.

Legatt says that better education on what the city can and can't recycle is important. He says a large amount of Styrofoam comes to the landfills which the city doesn't accept.

Legatt says that anytime you can reuse a product, such as newspaper, is just as helpful as properly recycling.

If you have any questions about how to properly recycle you can contact the Sanitation Division in St. Cloud at 320-650-2900.

Coming up on Monday we will have some tips for those of you who want to manage stress for their New Year's Resolution.
