UNDATED - This weekend is the unofficial kick-off to the summer travel season, and Explore Minnesota Tourism expect it to be a good season for tourism-related businesses.  Their summer travel forecast is for continued moderate growth for lodging and camping businesses.   Travel spending is also suppose to be up.

Spokeswoman Joan Hummel says that's good news for the entire state.

This is expected to be the third year of gradual recovery from recession lows of 2009.

Hummel says tourism is a lot more than just a few destination spots.

The Explore Minnesota ad campaign targets neighboring states and Minnesota, encouraging travelers to find "More to Explore" at nearby destinations.
