UNDATED - Mountain Iron, Plainview, La Crescent, Sleepy Eye and Two Harbors are the five safest cities in Minnesota, according to a report from SafeWise, a home security comparison website.

The "safe city" ratings are based on F-B-I data on violent crimes and property crimes.

Minnesota’s violent crime and property crime rates are below the national median, and it’s recognized as the 17th safest state in America.

Cities in Central Minnesota that made the Top 15 list:

#10 - Albany
#11 - Becker
#12 - Melrose
