Renown Civil Rights Activist to Headline St. Cloud State University Diversity Conference

ST. CLOUD - A leading American expert on race, class and gender relations will be the keynote speaker during a St. Cloud State University conference.

Dr. Cornel West, a famed civil rights activist and leading academic and social critic, will headline the Power in Diversity Leadership Conference, entitled "Change - It Starts With Me."

The Princeton University Professor is the author of two books on social issues, including the best-selling Race Matters.

West is known for being a strong advocate of change when it comes to the way Americans deal with the issues of race, gender and class relations.

His presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Ritsche Auditorium at SCSU. Admission to the conference is $5.00.

The Power in Diversity Leadership conference is in it's 3rd year.
