Renderings of New Minneapolis Park Released

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A city council member hopes renderings of a new Minneapolis city park in front of the Minnesota Vikings stadium will help jumpstart fundraising.

The park will include a reflecting pool, gardens, a large green space, a cafe and children's play areas. Landscape architects unveiled the first detailed renderings of their plan Wednesday.

City Council Member Jacob Frey says it's difficult to raise money before people can see what they are donating toward.

A private nonprofit organization is leading the fundraising effort. It aims to raise about $20 million to build the park and support its operation.
