Renate A. Wiegert, 55, of Pillager, MN died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. There will be an open house to celebrate Renate’s life from 11:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Casino Assembly of God Church in Pillager, MN, with Pastor Dan Johnson officiating.

Renate was born September 4, 1959 in Staples, MN to Eugene and Arlyss (Richmond) Marshall. She graduated from Pillager High School. Renate was the 1st female Auto Mechanic from Brainerd Tech and the 1st female Auto Mechanic in Brainerd at Montgomery Wards. Renate was united in marriage to John Wiegert on April 11, 1981 at Casino Assembly of God Church in Pillager. She worked at Madden’s Resort for 12 years and then at Lakewood Health Care in Staples in the IT Department for the past 10 years. She enjoyed horseback riding, bull riding, rodeos, canning, working with her hands, IT technology, ATV 4 wheeling, gardening, camping, camp fires, embroidering, making home made lotions, and her church family at Casino Assembly of God church. She received numerous hospital awards.

Renate is survived by her husband, John; mother, Arlyss of Pillager, MN; children, Carl (Sarah Graetz) of Fairbanks, AK, Elizabeth (Beth) (Daniel) Wutzke of Pillager, MN; siblings, Jean (Jack) Schwatka, Scott (Carol) Marshall, Karen (Fred) Miller, Donald (Vicki) Marshall, Kris Marshall, Ruth (Justin) Stevens; 3 grandchildren, Everly, Dylan and Lydia. She is preceded in death by her father, Gene. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
