ST. CLOUD - The 30th annual National Night Out is coming-up on Tuesday, August 6th.  From 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. residents in neighborhoods throughout the St. Cloud area are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights, and spend the evening with their neighbors and police.

John Justin is the Community Service Officer for the St. Cloud Police Department.  He says it's a night for residents to get to know their local police officers.

Besides the local police departments, deputies with the Sheriff's Departments, and members of the St. Cloud Fire Department also participate in the crime and drug prevention event.

Justin asks that you register your National Night Out event with the police department by August 2nd.  He says they typically have over 70 neighborhood block parties that they attend on National Night Out.

To register, call Justin at 345-4182.
