Red Wing Man Arrested After Chase Through Sherburne County

BECKER -- A Red Wing man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about an erratic driver just after 9:30 this (Tuesday) morning. The caller stated the driver was varying speeds and "slamming" on the brakes.

A sheriff's deputy spotted the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on County Road 5 in Blue Hill Township and activated the squad's emergency lights. The driver, 29-year-old Jordan Denk, is accused of leading officers on a chase through Big Lake and onto westbound Highway 10. Police were able to stop and arrest Denk in Becker Township.

Denk faces charges of fleeing police and being in possession of a controlled substance.
