SAUK RAPIDS -- The recent weekend snowfall has picked up business for local stores who specialize in snow related equipment.

Mimbach Fleet Supply Manager Rich Wolter says the few inches of snow brought an uptick in customers the last few days.

"We didn't get a lot of snow but we had a good uptick in business for salt, shovels, and sold a couple of snowblowers," says Wolter.

However, even with the small snowfall Wolter says they've seen a decline in business from a year ago.

"If you remember the first snow we got last year was in early November, so that caught a lot of people off guard and we were buying more shovels and salt, while this year we've had a lot more time to prepare for it," says Wolter.

Wolter says they will have the shelves stocked with plenty of shovels, salt and more for the snowfall we're expecting tonight (Monday).

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Stearns, Benton, and Sherburne counties from Monday night through Tuesday.

Snow will not be as heavy with this round, but it still looks to produce an additional 2 to 5 inches of snow.
